Piąty Dom
I first heard about Piąty Dom during its very early stages. Michał, the founder and creator, asked me to design the visual identity for this new spot on the cultural map of Katowice. He already had the name and a general idea in mind. My job was “simply” to turn that blurry vision into a real, tangible design.
The goal was to create a brand inspired by astrology, tarot, and mysticism. In astrology, the “Fifth House” symbolizes a shelter for our inner child—a place for fun, play, and pleasure. It was also important to connect the design to independent, alternative culture, as underground concerts and events were meant to be the club’s main driving force.

Based on our conversations and extensive research, we decided on a purely typographic symbol (a text-based logo). After creating a moodboard and several initial concepts, I found the right path. I designed a custom set of letters that perfectly captured the mystical vibe. Choosing the colors and fonts followed naturally. The raw and “gritty” style of the visual communication clearly signaled that this is a place for independent culture.

I also created several custom illustrations, pairing them with simple geometric shapes. My goal was to build a flexible and responsive system that could easily work on any medium or size. The examples show how the design looks on posters, menus, clothing, and social media.

Unfortunately, the club’s opening was delayed several times. When things finally got back on track almost a year later, Michał decided to change the concept and take the visual identity in a different direction. As a result, my work ended up being “shelved.” However, I decided to share the project here to give it a second, virtual life.
